The LEGO plan for 2015.

With it being the end of 2014 and tomorrow being 2015 I thought I'd talk about what I plan on doing next year so you all have an idea of what to expect on both of my blogs. This post is mainly going to be about my LEGO blog and I will do another post on my main blog talking about what I'm going to be doing over on that one as well.

As you may know I'm still in the process of building the B-25 that I started this year so that will be the main focus of the beginning of 2015 and hopefully I can get it finished in the first month or two. I will also be working on my Nebulon B Frigate on and off throughout next year but hopefully I can also get that finished first half of next year.

On to future projects the first MOC I plan on building after I finish my B-25 will be a Trophy Truck style vehicle that will be fully motorised and have all the usual functions on these sorts of vehicles. After that which shouldn't take to long (Hopefully...) I will be back building another aircraft. I haven't quite decided yet as to which particular aircraft to make but the two top candidates at the moment are either a P-47 Thunderbolt or a Tempest MKII.

One other small thing to mention is I do plan on adding more MOCs to the BrickLink MOC shop next year as well although I do need to actually come up with some ideas first but that's the plan at least.

Thats everything I have planned at the moment as the aircraft will probably be rather large and I may have to buy more pieces so that could slow progress down. On that subject I've been thinking about this for a while now and as you all may know one of the big reasons why it takes me so long to make these LEGO MOCs is that I find it difficult to afford the pieces to build them so if any of you would like to support me in the form of a donation then please do get in touch with me as it would help me out a lot. Anything would be very much appreciated and would help me build these MOCs faster and better.

I think that's everything I wanted to talk about so thanks for reading and have a happy New Year.

Thanks again. :)

MOC: Nebulon-B Frigate in LDD WIP part 10

Been working on the Nebulon B Frigate over the weekend so here what I've got done.

I've added some more colour to parts of it and I've also added a few small details here and there as well. What do you think?

MOC: Nebulon-B Frigate in LDD WIP part 9

Just a quick update today. I've been working on the colours a bit since the last update as well as a few smaller details here and there. I've changed the plates where the red line is to be a bit smoother and I've also added a bit of colour to certain places as well.

MOC: Technic B-25 Mitchell WIP Part 13

As I haven't posted pictures of the actual model for a while I thought I'd do just that and show you what it's looking like now. I've built a possible design for the tail turrets canopy but I'm not 100% sure on how it looks at the moment but it's a start at least.

And a picture of the overall progress I've made with it.

MOC: Technic B-25 Mitchell WIP Part 12

I've been working on the engine design a bit more over the past few days and something I noticed was that the design I made before had 8 cylinders however the actual radial engine in the B-25 is a 14 cylinder twin row radial engine so there should actually be 7 cylinders at the front. I had to think about it for a while but I've come up with a possible design for 7 cylinders. I'm thinking this is going to be more or less the final design for the engines as I've got the look somewhere around where I want it and it lets the axle spin freely. What do you all think?

MOC: Nebulon-B Frigate in LDD WIP part 8

I've done a bit more work on my Nebulon B Frigate over the past week and what I've been focusing on this time is the colours. I've done a test render in pov-ray to see what the colours are going to look like when I do the final renders as the colours are a bit different in LDD to LDView/Pov-ray as you can see in these two pictures. What do you think?

MOC: Technic B-25 Mitchell WIP Part 11

Another quick update today on the engine design of my B-25 project. I managed to come up with a possible design for the radial engines in the B-25 in LDD. What do you all think?

MOC: Technic B-25 Mitchell WIP Part 10

A bit of a different update today as I haven't got much progress done on the actual model however I have been trying to come up with a good design for the front of the engines. I've made this in LDD as I don't really have the pieces to make it on the actual model and I'm just trying to come up with ideas at the moment.

I think it looks better than it looks now but I kinda want a design for a radial engine to go in the front however I haven't though of one yet. But anyway that's all for this time.

MOC: Nebulon-B Frigate in LDD WIP part 7

Another update on my Nebulon B Frigate today. I've done quite a bit of work on the rear engine section to make the shape of it look a bit closer to the actual thing although I have messed up the internal structure a bit but oh well, I'l fix that at some point.

Still a bit more internal work to be done as well as external details but thats all for now. Till next time.

MOC: Technic B-25 Mitchell WIP Part 9

Just a very quick update today as I haven't gotten that much done over the past week.

The main thing that I focused on this time was the front section. I've built the preliminary design of the cockpit canopy and nose canopy and although there is still a few bits to be added I think it make the nose section look much better.

And that's everything, Yep told you it would be quick. Anyway, Till next time.

MOC: Nebulon-B Frigate in LDD WIP part 6

Been working on the Nebulon-B Frigate over the week end so I thought I'd post a update.

First thing I did was work on the plates on the front section quite a bit so they look a bit more like the actual thing. I've also increased the strength of the center section by adding a second row of beams under the original row. These two main beams almost run straight through the entire length of the model so it should be much stronger now.

And thats it. Till the next update.

MOC: Technic B-25 Mitchell WIP Part 8

I've got some more work done on my B-25 over the past week so I thought I'd post an update to tell you all what I've done.

I've improved the tail section a bit by adding beams going straight up the under side of the fuselage as well as building a bit more of the tail it's self.

I've also built a preliminary design for the tail gun.

Another thing I did was put in the battery box and IR receiver where they will go. I'm not 100% happy about how far the battery box sticks out the top but I'm not sure how to solve that one yet.

And thats it for this update, Till next time.

MOC: Nebulon-B Frigate in LDD WIP part 5

I've gotten some more progress done on the Nebulon B Frigate over the past few days so here's what I've got done.

Biggest thing that's changed since the last update is I've completely rebuilt the front section so it's now wider and a bit better overall shape now. I've also added plates to the sides of the center spar to help with the look of it.

Still a bit more work to do on the front sections plates but that's it for this update. Till next time.

I'm now selling some of my creations! Sort of...

As the title says I've decided to try and sell some of my creations through BrickLink's MOC shop, Link here: moc.bricklink.com If you want to learn more about this quite frankly awesome website then visit the about page here: moc.bricklink.com/pages/moc/help/about.page

The basic idea behind this is make some of my MOCs available to buy and make a bit of money in the process if indeed anyone does want to buy any of them. If I do make any money out of this then it would go straight into buying more LEGO pieces so I could build bigger and better MOCs to share with you guys.

Right now I only have one MOC up at the moment (That one up there ^^) however I do plan on adding more soon. The link to my MOCs on the BrickLink MOC shop is here: My MOCs And while your there if you want have a look around at some of the awesome MOCs that are on there too.

As always comments/suggestions are welcome and if there's a MOC that I've made that you would like to be on the MOC shop then feel free to comment below.

And that's all for now, Till next time.

MOC: Technic B-25 Mitchell WIP Part 7

Another quick update today as I've made a bit more progress on the B-25 so here's what's been done.

The main thing I've been focusing on over the past few days is the tail section which as you can see is starting to look a bit more like the real thing. I still have a way to go yet but I've finally got the control surfaces on the tail working well so the only control surface left to get working is the ailerons which I can only to do once I've actually made the wings.

Something I forgot to put in the last update was that I had actually built the propellers. They are a similar design to the propeller on my Spitfire but smaller as this model is in a smaller scale.

Finally as usual a shot of the overall model.

And thats it. Till next time.

MOC: Technic B-25 Mitchell WIP Part 6

Finally got some more work done on my B-25 over the weekend so here's what I've done. I've added the other side of the nose section as well as completely replaced the control mechanism for the elevator control to using beams as the original way of doing that (using axles) wasn't going to work. I've also run the rudder control mechanism to the tail as well although I haven't added the actual rudders in yet.

I also came up with a preliminary design for the top turret.

And thats everything. Till next time.

MOC: Nebulon-B Frigate in LDD WIP part 4

I've been working on my Nebulon B Frigate over the past few days so here's an update on what I've done. I've added a bit more detail to the rear section as well as finished off the detail on the bottom of the front section. I've also been thinking about the colours so I still need to sort them out and there might also be a few minor tweaks here and there as well. I also need to sort out the internal structure as it's a bit of a mess at the moment.

Also I should hopefully have a update to my B-25 soon as I've finally got a few more of the pieces I needed to carry on building it.

MOC: Nebulon-B Frigate in LDD WIP part 3

I've got some more progress done over the past few days so here is an update on what I've done. I've done the other side of the front section as well as started work on the very bottom part of the from section, I've also added more detail to the rear section. I'll probably do a bit more work on the rear section as well as the bottom of the front section next.

MOC: Nebulon-B Frigate in LDD WIP part 2

I've gotten a bit more done over the past few days so I thought I'd post an update on what I've done. I've replaced the bricks on the rear section with slope bricks and done a bit more work on the front section as well. I still need to do the same for the other side and work on the rear section a bit more.

Still a lot more work to do but it's getting there I think.

MOC: Nebulon-B Frigate in LDD WIP part 1

So I finally got around to working on the Nebulon-B Frigate again that I started building in MLCad quite a while ago however I've decided to build it in LDD (Lego Digital Designer) instead. This way
it will be a bit easier for me to make it in LDD. I imported the old model so all that progress is still there so I'll use that as a base to carry on with it. I've done a bit of work on it already but there's still quite a bit left to do. here's my progress so far.

I'll hopefully be posting updates to this any week that I don't have an update for my B-25 project so I should get a update out on either build at least once a week. Anyway till next time.

MOC: Technic B-25 Mitchell WIP Part 5

More progress has been made on the B-25 in the past week so here's what I've done.

This past week I tried to focus on the placement of the motors for the landing gear and the mechanism to connect them to the actual landing gear. I also added the two main beams where the wings are going attach to.

This is the motor for the landing gear on the wings.
This is the motor of the nose landing gear.
And as usual a picture of the over progress, I'll probably work on the tail section a bit more and get the battery box mounted as well this next week.

MOC: Technic B-25 Mitchell WIP Part 4

I've managed to get a bit more work done on the B-25 over the past week so I thought I'd post another update on what I've done. First of I've done a bit of work on the control system so now the control stick has all it's outputs and I just need to connect them all to the control surfaces which will be done once I've actually made the control surfaces.

These two outputs are for the ailerons.
The other part I worked on was the tail. I replaced some of the 1x16 studded beams with 1x14 studded beams and started on the very beginnings of the tailplane.

And finally the overall progress I've made on the fuselage.

MOC: Technic B-25 Mitchell WIP Part 3

Just a quick update today as I haven't gotten much building done in the past week. I did a bit of work on the tail section and I think I've come up with a design that should be quite strong once it's finished. It's also now getting close to how long it's going to end up being once finished.

I have actually run out of 1x16 studded beams so I might replace some in the tail with 1x14 studded beams.
And thats it for this update. Hopefully I get a bit more building done this week.

MOC: Technic B-25 Mitchell WIP Part 2

I've done quite a bit of work on the B-25 so I thought I'd post another update and show what I've done since the first part. First up I replaced the left and right landing gear mechanism with a bit better design that should be a bit stronger and work a bit better.

This is actually the beginning of the right engine bay.
The landing gear mechanism is a bit easier to see on this side as it isn't built up as much.
The landing gear in the down position.

Next I built the control stick and peddle for the ailerons, elevator and rudder.

As you can see this is more compact than the control system I built for my Spitfire.

I've only added one peddle for the rudder as to try and fit two inside such a small area would
be difficult so I thought I'd go for just one to make it a bit easier. I've also added the front landing gear as well.

Lastly a couple of shots of the overall progress I've made.

MOC: Technic B-25 Mitchell WIP Part 1

Well I finally started work on my next Technic aircraft, A B-25 Mitchell. It's going to be a similar size to my Technic Spitfire and mostly the same type of functions. The planned functions I have at the moment are:

  • Both engines powered by a PF XL motor each.
  • Working ailerons, elevator and rudder all controlled from the cockpit.
  • Working Landing gear powered by a PF M motor.
  • Working Landing flaps also powered by a PF M motor.
  • Working turrets.
I've so far built part of the left engine bay with the landing gear leg and the basic structure of the center of the main fuselage. First a couple of pictures of the engine bay:

Next up is the section of main fuselage I've built so far:

I'm not sure how long this MOC is going to take as I don't currently have all the pieces needed and affording them is going to be interesting to say the least but I will try and finish it before the end of the year hopefully.

And thats it for now, Hopefully I'll have another update for you around this time next week.

MOC: Technic Spitfire

Well it's been just over six months but I've finally finished my Technic Spitfire. This has been one of the largest and most time consuming builds I've done and I'm glad I've finally finished it to be honest. First a bit of info about it:

Wingspan: 90cm
length: 86cm
Propeller diameter: 29cm
Functions:
Motorised Engine and Propeller.
Motorised Landing Gear.
Working Rudder, Elevator, and ailerons controlled from the cockpit.

Now we move on to the pictures. First up a few different view of it overall.

Next up a close up of all the functions and interesting bits.

A close up of the propeller so you can see the design a bit better. I'm quite pleased with how this turned out.

A close up of the engine and XL motor that drives the engine and propeller.
The final gear ratio is 5.001:1.

The left side is for the ailerons and the right side is the landing gear.

Close up of the M motor that powers the landing gear.

Close up of the control surface control system.

The tail section. This was a bit of a pain to get right.

The rear of the tail section.

The original way I did this was with gears but that made the Elevators way to loose so I came up with this instead.

A close up of the landing gear down.

A close up of inside the Cockpit.

A view from the cockpit as if you where sitting in it.
Next up a couple of pictures with the landing gear up.

Finally a video of all the functions.

And thats it. I hope you like it. :)
